How much does "guaranteed" PR cost — and can anyone actually guarantee it?

Short answer: nobody can guarantee an editorial decision. Here is what the work really costs, from $89.

Start with the uncomfortable part: **nobody can guarantee editorial.** A publication decides what it runs. Any agency promising a guaranteed placement is either selling you paid or sponsored content without saying so, or writing a promise it cannot keep. Ask which one, in writing, before you pay anyone — including us.

What you can buy is the work, at a price named upfront. À la carte needs no subscription: Trelexa's own-network article placement is $89, a newswire release $150, and a named masthead from the partner catalog starts at $400 and climbs steeply with the title — a regional Forbes edition is roughly $4,640, Forbes US about $19,680. That spread is the real answer to "how much does PR cost": it depends almost entirely on which masthead you want, and honest pricing means naming the title before the invoice.

A subscription is the separate option, covering standing strategy and production rather than single purchases. It does not discount the placement prices above, and the monthly figure is quoted on the call.

So a 90-day budget is two line items: the placements you actually want, and optionally the programme around them. That is a different shape from a $12k retainer that never names an outlet — and it is why our engagements are final sale. We would rather tell you what is unrealistic before you pay than refund you after.
